Archer County Rolls Out Prescription Drug Discount Card

Discount Cards Offering Average Savings Of 20 Percent Off Retail Price

 Archer County, has launched a prescription discount card program to help consumers cope with the high price of prescription drugs. The County is making free prescription drug discount cards available under a program sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NACo) that offers average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs.

 

The cards are now available at the Archer County Courthouse, 100 South Center, Archer City, Texas:  The cards may be used by all county residents, regardless of age, income, or existing health coverage, and are accepted at all the major Pharmacy’s like CVS, Walgreen’s, Wal-Mart and most other chains.

 

To find a pharmacy and get further information, just go to : www.caremark.com/naco  or call 1-800-364-6331, toll free. A national network of more than 59,000 participating retail pharmacies also will honor the NACo prescription discount card.

 

The prescription discount card offers significant savings for the uninsured and underinsured residents of Archer County, and even those with coverage can use the card to save money on drugs that are not covered by their health plan. The card is free. Here are some guidelines:

 

- The card can be used for prescriptions that are not covered by insurance.

- This is not an insurance program.

- Residents do not have to be Medicare beneficiaries to be eligible for this program.

- There is no limit to the frequency or number of times the card can be used.

- There is no enrollment form and no membership fee.

- To use the NACo prescription discount card just present it at a participating pharmacy.

 

 And lastly, the only cost to county taxpayers for the program is the time it took to distribute cards and provide information. The discount card program is administered by Caremark Rx, Inc.
